Facing Fear & Procrastination Finally
.
Take a second to picture this, what about fear and procrastination seem to go hand in hand?
.
They go together almost like peanut butter & jelly don’t they? It’s almost like you can’t have one with out the other. I’d like you to think about this though, what would be the opposite of the two look like? Love and action?
.
Very close. Earl Nightingale said it best in his great work The Strangest Secret, “Persistence is another word for faith. If you didn’t have faith you wouldn’t persist.”
.
I believe you’re reading this because you still have faith in your purpose here on earth, which tells me you’re persisting towards something positive in your life. Putting a finger on exactly what this purpose is may be just be a tad ellusive to you possibly? (If it’s not and you’re clear I’d love to hear your feedback)
.
Many of my customers I’ve surveyed have told me their 2 biggest challenges are fear of failure and procrastination. Imagine that? I don’t believe they have had much faith in themselves or worse yet some of my customers are waiting for someone to come along and turn them on.
.
Well Jim Rohn said it best:
“What if that person never shows up?“
I think that means you’d go now where fast, or a more astute way of putting it is, “you would be hosed.” I doubt Jim Rohn would put it to you that way but I’m not Jim Rohn. ![]()

Action Over Fear
.
So let’s talk about two things you can do to get past these two speed bumps in life known as Fear and Procrastination. Because yes, you can and will get over them.
.
1. Fear-Embrace it and get excited about it. Why? because you’re bumping up against a belief system that says in your head, “hey you can’t do that, what if this bad thing happens or that bad thing happens or you make a fool of yourself?” This means you’re on the verge of a break through. You have the option to push through it and face that fear or you can allow it to be bigger than you and defeat you.
.
You have infinite power but if you don’t consciously tap into it, you will waste it. Have you considered you have a fear of success because of all of the responsibility that comes along with it? Have you considered if you’re financially successful that you may believe your friends and family will see you as “one of them rich jerks” and there for you live a life of mediocrity instead? Think that one through and get honest with yourself. That’s the first step.
.
Your beliefs are all that stand in the way of where you are and what experiences you can have in life. You don’t want a big house, fancy car or a attractive spouse. You want the experience that those things provide you. Those experiences are yours when you decide to create new beliefs and follow through with them day in day out.

Pummel Procrastination.

2. Procrastination-You can overcome procrastination much easier when you face whatever fears you’re able to acknowledge. However there is another reason you may procrastinate. Maybe it’s not because you fear your outcome, but because you’re not even clear of what you want your outcome to be. You’re not very motivated to get somewhere if you don’t know where you’re going or know why!
.
Poor planning will be one of the biggest challenges you will face, but only if you haven’t clearly defined what you want your life to look like. It’s not your resources that are limited, it’s your limited belief around being resourceful. Take the time to plan your perfect day. Your life revolves around a single day. Decide what it looks like and write down all of the experiences you want to have in that day.
.
If you’re not clear on what you want your life to look like what makes you believe you’ll take any action towards it? Um, you won’t!
.
These two things may be common sense to some but I also know that most of the people seeking a better quality of life run into these road blocks all the time and the road blocks win. Someone does care and wants to give you guidance, believe me. Until you find that particular person you can lean on me and my wisdom so far up to this point.
.
I’m warning you though, I’m prone to mistakes like anyone else. The only difference between you and me? I’m scared too sometimes and I’ve screwed up more times than you but I have a blog to share those experiences. More importantly though I focus on sharing the solutions I’ve found which have worked for me.
.
I keep going so I can give you some guidance along your journey as well.
.
Use Fear As A Tool
.
To close, I like to look at fear and procrastination as tools, much like a hammer. It can be used to build something or to hurt someone. It’s not the hammer that is bad, it’s just a tool. It’s how you decide to use it that determines it’s value.
.
If you know you have something specific to build that day, what do you thing your first choice would be to use the hammer for? Well of course you will want to use it to build your dream home.
.
Whether you are positive or negative you will face fear and procrastination through your journey in life. The difference is you now have the choice to use your new awareness to use it. Use it to catapult yourself towards what you do want. Better relationships, more prosperity & better health.
.
Now isn’t that a step towards a whole new way of wealth?
