From the film quality, this looks like it was before the civil rights movement. Unfortunately, calling black people negroes and assuming they lived in harlem was sort of par for the course. Especially considering she was already pretty old.

I doubt anything she is saying is untrue. You have to consider that these days most drug users are better educated about drugs. H is a lot less popular now because of that, thank god.

Yep, another trait showed in the movie is when the character, Gerri Blank, hits a joint once and trips out and starts throwing shit and breaking shit. Resulting in her being kicked out of the party after five minutes. The show was pretty spot on in portraying this living piece of hilarious, ridiculous shit.

synonan wasnt just a failure. it took on the shape of a cult. women had to shave their heads. some men were forced into being “snipped”. there were forced abortions, couples entering the program at times were forced to split and recouple with others. there was even an underground railroad to get some of the children in the program back to their parents. there is actually alot more to it. there were a few good outcomes but yea it tottaly fell apart in like 1990.
