The Story Of Broke To Wealth

.

The reason I tell you any of this is because you’re more than likely a lot like me…at least not so long ago I was like you. I found a way out of my situation. I’m not totally sure but maybe it will help you see things differently. I picked the picture above to represent my awareness peaking out over the rest of my life after I learned what I’m about to share with you.

.

At 18 I moved out of my great grandparents home and set forth to take on the music world. No fear and a twinkle in my eye I knew I’d have success. (My definition of success wasn’t money then mind you)

.

The road was hard. More than a few nights I ended up sleeping on a bench behind where I worked because I had no where to stay. I had maxed out my friends welcome but Ironically, had $500 in my shoe one night. I just didn’t want to spend it because I wanted to eat as well.

.

Eventually by age 20 I went on to tour in a band called Cynic in 1993.

.

I had quit my job & went to Miami on the possibility that I would get the opportunity with the band. I had sent a Demo of myself down to them and they liked what they heard but wanted to meet me. My job had fired me a few months before because of my attitude but had just hired me back because they said they wanted to teach me a lesson.

.

I had a choice at that moment because I had only been back at my job for a week. I suspended disbelief and pushed forward. There was an opportunity in front of me and I took it.

.

I went on to tour Europe in the winter of ’93 and even had my 21st birthday in Poland and played in front of 10,000 people that night.  Those are memories I will never forget. Over all, now that I look back, the experience was a success. It of course didn’t come with out it’s challenges but I later learned from them. In my mind I went from broke to wealth.

.

Suspending Disbelief-A Key To Success

.

I then had an opportunity to work with a high school friend in the mobile home industry. At that point I was tired of being broke. I wanted to make big money and have a different lifestyle.

.

Again though I had to prove myself and before I could get the job in sales I had to make some sacrifices. I had to work at one of my friends fathers other business first and prove my work ethic.

.

I did so, cut off all of my hair (which was a lot) and completely reinvented myself.

.

Needless to say by 24 I was earning over  $50,000 a year in the mobile home industry. By 28 I was nearing six figures. The rest is history. (Not terrible for a kid who only graduated high school with a C- average even if the mobile home industry wasn’t so glamorous.) Again I felt I had went from broke to wealth.

.

Defining Wealth

.

One more stage to go, by working in that industry for 7 and 1/2 years I found myself on the opposite end of the spectrum. I wasn’t money broke, I was time broke. I wanted to know why the people I worked for could take off so much time and travel the world and live in huge homes and have amazing lifestyles.

.

Then it hit me.

.

They didn’t work for money. They worked to set up assets. They had leverage and I was it.

.

I was the asset for as long as I worked for them. I was the one who spun off income into their household year after year.

.

My goal was to build my own assets that spun income off into my house hold year after year.

.

This lead me to the network marketing industry where I was able to create leverage and set up as many assets as I wanted that deposited cash into my bank account every day. As much as over $3500 in a Day. (I’ve been with my same company for 8 years now)

5 Simple Insights That Lead from Broke To Wealth

.

Needless to say I tell you this to show you a pattern. One that you probably have as well but maybe weren’t aware of. Once you’re aware, it’s extremely motivational.

.

If you notice In each of those situations I wasn’t poor I was just broke in one way or another.

.

Broke is temporary and poor is a state of mind. P.O.O.R. stands for Passing Over Opportunity Repeatedly.

.

I may have been broke but I was never poor. I never passed up opportunity. How many times can you look back in your life where you suspended disbelief, took action and got a result that may not have been about money but definitely gave you a wealth of experience that you later applied?

.

I’m betting more than once right?

.

So 3 simple steps to take you from Broke to Wealth that have worked for me over time:

  1. Suspend Disbelief.
  2. Take Action
  3. Look at your outcome objectively and realize good or bad it’s stepping stone to where you want to be.
  4. Apply your new found knowledge and realize it is now wisdom
  5. Live with an awareness that you are on a path of gaining wisdom which is only available to you through experiences. Good or Bad they both contribute to your overall life’s success.

.

Chances are, you’re like me and have taken a few of these steps but weren’t aware of the fact you did. It wasn’t until I worked on my awareness that I was able to engage life’s opportunity’s and apply my energy in much more productive ways. I’ve always went from Broke to Wealth. Even when I’ve had money!
